What is ABS?
ABS stands for Antilock Braking System. The system senses when the a brake is about to cause a wheel to lockup, and relieve the pressure on that brake automatically to keep the wheel turning. When the wheels are turning, not locked up, you have more control over your car.
My brakes judder when I press the pedal, what is the problem?
Most of the time when you feel the brake pedal pulse under your foot, this is caused by the brake rotors being warped. An excessive heat buildup in the brake rotors will cause them to warp creating that pulsing feeling in the brake pedal. It is recommended that you get your brakes serviced as soon as possible to prevent brake failure.
How often should I change my oil?
Oil change intervals can be as short as 3,000 miles or as long as 20,000 miles on some newer vehicles. We recommend that you follow the oil and filter change frequencies shown in your owner’s manual, especially during the warranty period.
My manual says I should use 5W-30 oil in my engine, but can I use 10W-30 or 10W-40 instead?
Many vehicle manufacturers recommend light weight oil be used in newer cars because newer engines are built to tighter tolerances than before. This requires light weight oil for proper lubrication when the engine is cold. Please refer to your manual for alternative oils to be used based on temperature.
My check engine light is on, what should I do?
Your car’s computer system is telling you that it has detected a problem by recognizing a fault in one of its sensors. Please do not ignore this warning & have the car checked at the earliest possible opportunity.
How often do I need to check my air conditioning?
An annual inspection will ensure peak performance and may help prevent possible costly repairs.
Is there a way to prevent my vehicle from rusting?
One way to prevent this is to wash your vehicle when it is warmer outside, or when Spring starts. It is important to remove salt from hard-to-reach areas, such as the underneath, which are likely to rust.
